new class of crystalline porous materials, synthesized by coordinating metals to organic ligands. They have high porosity and surface area. For example, a metal-organic framework, so called NU-110, has such a large surface area (7140 m<sup>2<\/sup>\/g) that just one gram of it could be unfolded to cover one-and-a-half football fields.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"bt_bb_headline_subheadline\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 100%;\">The large surface area offers more space for chemical reactions and adsorption of molecules such as gas molecules.
